About & Connect With Me

Hello, Kindred Soul—Welcome!
I’m Tracy MacDonald. I believe in the power of connection, transformation, and sharing our stories to inspire one another. This space is where I capture soul-nourishing moments from life as an expat, writer, speaker, and advocate for women.

My Journey
I’ve lived many lives—federal agent, consultant, diplomat, expat, mom, public speaker, and author. At the heart of them all is a single thread: transformation and courage. Professionally, I draw on my background as a former Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service, an instructor in Counter-Terrorism at the Defense Intelligence Agency, and a Lead Associate in Financial Intelligence Consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton. Today, I consult on illicit finance, speak to audiences about resilience and empowerment, and support the U.S. Embassy’s mission as a foreign service spouse, changing countries every few years.

Empowering Women
I am passionate about female empowerment and love speaking to women, students, and global communities about the courage it takes to step into the unknown, embrace reinvention, and pursue bold new paths. My talks highlight transformation—from fear to fearlessness, from conformity to confidence.

The Writing Life
As a member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association (WFWA), I’m currently on a publishing journey for my debut women’s fiction novel about a Southern woman who breaks free from expectations and discovers her strength. I will also be contributing to a non-fiction anthology in 2026 about female leadership. My work has been published in Bella Grace Magazine and on Stampington & Company’s blog, Grace Notes.

What Brings Me Joy
Time with family and friends. Exploring markets, bookshops, and art galleries. Sitting with a journal in cafés or wandering with my camera in nature. Ambient spaces (especially near the water or with old-world architecture), alfresco dining, strong coffee, good wine, and loose tea. And always, the company of family and kindred spirits like you.

Let’s Connect
I’d love to hear about what inspires you. You can explore my Innovation Women Speaker page for my signature talks and connect with me on LinkedIn.  Or, if you’d like to chat face-to-face, I welcome you to schedule a 15-minute video call with me on Calendly, which lists my calendar availability. I’d love to connect!

Wishing you abundance and light,

Tracy

  4. Hi, I’m taking off work Friday to come and hear you speak at Wesleyan. I graduated 2001 from there and saw that you were going to speak, so as an early birthday present to myself, I took the day off. I read some of your blog posts and am ordering the strong coffee from Cameroon, loose tea from Paris you bought, and the Creative Batch from South Africa wine to give them a try for my birthday. Looking forward to meeting a free spirit fellow Wesleyanne. Take care, Julia Harris
